In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in San Francisco; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8:30 am–6 pm. San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Traffic in San Francisco peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I don't appreciate being overcharged. I posted this review to remind other customers to check and insist on being charged correctly. Here are the details. I bought a 2-item combination plus rice/noodle listed at $10.25 on electronic menu board. Cashier rang me up and I requested payment by credit card, and I see that $11.93 was charged (near instant notification of amount in Apple Pay). After having left the store and then returning when I saw the notification on my phone, the cashier tried to claim the discrepancy was because they have a small plastic stand on their counter that says they have a 3.5% surcharge on all transactions (this is not a credit card surcharge as other merchants on this street often have) because their expenses have gone up. They have an electronic menu board, if they want to adjust their prices, they can and should adjust their prices, instead of trying to claim an increase deliberately off the menu. They had no rebuttal to my challenge that they can easily adjust the posted prices. They even admitted they've had that plastic stand up for 6 months, they said. Anyway, I pointed out the math still didn't math. $10.25 + 8.625% SF sales tax + their of

I used to come here a lot for the BBQ pork. The pound I bought today is completely inedible: almost all fat, what isn't fat is rock hard, and the sauce isn't the right color for some reason? Took a couple bites and am throwing the rest away. Not just a waste of money, now I'm nowhere near more food, am hungry, and basically just won't have a lunch. Frustrating.

Super bad experience, recruiting roast duck rice, the rice is so rotten that it sticks to the teeth, the roast duck is so dry that it can't be chewed, and it's not fresh. I won't patronize it again. I hope it can help you.

Honestly a great spot if you’re looking for good value. Prices are low and portions are big. The dine-in area is pretty small, but most people seem to do takeout anyway, so it makes sense. We usually just stop by and grab food when we’re nearby. Also saw they have a mystery box after 5pm β€” pretty interesting idea!

BBQ pork buns - $2.90 ea. I got used to pay for a set of $3 in most Dim Sum places but this is a big one and lots of pork in the fillings. Not like those cheap one where you only get the sweet red sauce in the fillings. Cocktail buns - ok but I tasted butter which is not I am accustomed to. I prefer the one from TC Pastry in Noriega.
